I heard on local news last night that more children were born in 2007 than any year in America’s history, and that 40% of them were born out of wedlock, usually with no father in their life. This is a record. More children are born out of wedlock in the United States today than ever before in the history of our nation.

The saddest part about this is that research repeatedly shows that children raised in single parent homes (usually without a father) suffer a LOT.

In fact, surveys and studies by entities such as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Center for Health Statistics and more, repeatedly show that kids without a Dad or living in single-parent homes have a dramatically greater risk of:

1.     Drug and alcohol abuse

2.     Mental illness or psychological disorders

3.     Suicide

4.     Poor grades & misbehavior in school

5.     Teen pregnancy

6.     Crime (i.e., 72% of adolescent murderers grew up without a father)

7.     Gender identity

8.     Depression

9.     Inability to have healthy relationships

10.   Being abused (by a step-father or Mom’s boyfriend)

My point is simple: There are reasons why God tells us to only have sex within the bonds of marriage. Not only does it give couples a safe & healthy emotional and physical environment in which to have sex, but it dramatically increases the chances of a child having TWO parents in their life so that they can be raised in a safer, far healthier home. Even if the parents should divorce, a child has a dramatically greater chance of his father staying involved in his life than if Dad was never married to Mom.

Bottom line: God knows what he's doing! He gives us his laws to live by for good reasons. He says not to have sex outside marriage because he loves us, not because he doesn't want us to have any fun. We need to listen to him! He’s a LOT smarter than we are! He created us and knows what we need to be happy and what lifestyles will cause us misery and pain. And he knows that a lifestyle of sexual promiscuity will only bring us and our kids trouble & problems. That's a huge reason why he forbids it.

As a nation, we need to wake up and start doing things GOD'S way or we'll self destruct. Now, if you are already a single parent, please understand that God can forgive any sin you may have committed and get you through hard times. He can and WILL work in the lives of your children! But, we need to embrace his sex laws and make it a priority to stop the foolishness.

Otherwise, America will destroy itself. Think about it.
